I wrote on Friday afternoon about The Blog Advertising store. Now, a comment left on the site over the weekend has started a chain of events that has worried me about this system.

The email just asked me what I thought of the two similar looking systems that I compared, but got me looking more into the BlogAdvertisingStore. Now, the post that I submitted was left early afternoon on Friday, but is yet to be approved. If it is a US based system, then they would have received it morning their time.

There are mentions on the internet that it is a UK based system, but reading carefully through the site, the English is very poor in places. In places, it doesn’t read as though the writer is a native speaker.

And then I noticed that there were links / mentions to PayingPost. I guessed this could be a previous name, which is very suspicious, and started to run some searches. The results were that people were not being paid once they hit the minimum payout.

Also, more worryingly, there were reports of the snippet of javascript claim code causing the better browsers to identify the site as harmful. I’ve not experienced that and have opened the site in Firefox.

So, let’s take stock of the BlogAdvertisingStore.com, aka PayingPost.com

  • very prohibitively high $100 payout threshold
  • no sign of approval of my first submission
  • non to fluent English in places on the site
  • it looks like a copy of its biggest competition on the market
  • bad reports about non-payment
  • only about half a dozen open opportunities
  • a system that has been renamed, but not fully

I might play along, if the first post is approved. I’ll wait and see. Leave any comments about the systems that you have!
