Try Buying A Business, Not A Website
If you are starting into business, the obvious way to get involved is to set-up from scratch, buy a new domain name and ask someone like me to build you a suitable website.
But that is not the only way of getting into a new business. There is another way to get started, even if it can be a lot more expensive. And that is buying an existing business, or even just an existing domain name.
With an existing generic domain name, such as caraccidents.com, there is a huge amount of potential with the domain name. Some very clever and very lucky person has bought it, probably when domain names first started to be issued, and now they are willing to sell it for a premium.
The amount that a generic name is worth depends on the name itself. I’ve seen domains that go from tens of thousands of dollars to over a million. You would need to be certain of a high level of traffic on those domain names.
Buying a business is also another way to get started and might not be as expensive, if for no other reason than businesses for sale should also have a deal of traffic already arriving on the website, that you might be able to make the most of. They are also possibly not on such a high value domain name, so should be easier to get on board with.
Do not think that the only way to start a new internet venture is to start from scratch. Have a look around and you might be able to buy a suitable website, or even an ongoing business.
