I was expecting an early July Page Rank update. It would have fitted in with the pattern of every 3 months updating the toolbar to show the newest results.

But, Google can, and does, update when it wants to and it can come as a surprise, even when we are waiting on it.

We expect a major update regularly and get little updates even more frequently. But I have just noticed that in the last couple of days a PR0 blog (could even have been grey barred) has suddenly become PR1.

This is not the only small change I have seen in the July 2010 Page Rank updates. But I have also noticed a lot of movement in some of my sites on search engine terms, some ranking really well compared to even just a month ago.

Maybe there is a pleasant surprise awaiting me with the next Page Rank update, which is why I am so keen to see it.

Last thought (for now) – what does it matter! If I’m getting the increased traffic, why do I want a longer green bar? It’s just some strange sort of pride. A badge to be worn on the website!
