Ezine Article’s 5th HAHD has started (I think at 06:00 UK time???) and I’m planning on making sure that I hit the bonus target again, so why is the HAHD so important to me?

Well, in short, traffic. The articles that I have built up over the previous 2 rounds of the HAHD are sitting there sending me traffic. I’ve got several of my own websites that are receiving visitors directly from EzineArticles every day, after reading one of my published articles. My customer’s websites are also benefiting the same way from some of my writings.

There is also search engine benefit as Ezine Articles. You only need to do a search on the links showing for each of my sites to see that the articles are clearly showing back links to my sites. And through this consistent writing over the last 6 months I have seen my search engine rankings increase.

But, there have also been positive side effects. Through so much writing I have learnt that aimless writing gets you nowhere. Research your keywords and subjects and write well on these and you will see both visitors and search engine improvements. But mass bulk writing of junk will definitely not send you any new traffic and without the planning, you could be wasting time on the wrong keywords.

So for the next batch my writing is going to be highly targeted. Using popular search terms to derive article ideas, hopefully by the time HAHD 5 ends I will be seeing even more direct traffic and even better search engine positions.

And ultimately, that is what a website survives on. Without traffic it is a waste of time.
